Part 1 – Threefold Walking—The Tao (Dao) of Walking—in Connection with the Christ Mantra for his Second Coming

SHAMBHALA PATH PART 1: Threefold Walking – The Tao (Dao) Of Walking – In Connection With The Christ Mantra For His Second Coming

When Shambhala reveals itself again, one of the first visions to come to human beings will be that of Christ in his etheric form. Into the land declared by Oriental writings to have vanished there is no leader other than Christ. It is Christ who will lead human beings to Shambhala… In future, Christ will become visible to human beings in the etheric and not in a physical body. From the middle of the twentieth century on, and continuing for the next twenty-five hundred years, this will happen more and more often. Enough people will by then have experienced [something like] the event [that Saul who became Paul experienced] at Damascus that it will be taken to be a common occurrence all over the world… In full consciousness human beings should enter this land [of Shambhala] under the guidance of Christ. Even now the initiate can and must go often to the land of Shambhala in order to draw from there new forces. Later, other human beings, too, will enter the land of Shambhala. They will see its radiant light, as Paul saw above him—the light that streamed from Christ. This light will stream toward them, also. The portals of this realm of light will open to them, and through them they will enter the holy land of Shambhala.

~ Rudolf Steiner

Who is Mother Earth? We take her for granted. The whole of Nature is an expression of her being. With every breath we take, we breathe in the air that she creates in the realm of Nature surrounding us. Without this, we cannot live. She provides us with water to drink, without which we cannot live. She bestows upon us the food we eat, without which the vast majority of people cannot live. We stand upon her, and she supports us while we stand or during walking, running, and so on. She loves us unconditionally. And yet we take her for granted. This has to change. We are called upon to find a living, loving relationship to her as “Our Mother,” a relationship full of love and gratitude toward her.

After a time of practice of the Shambhala path, which will differ from person to person, one will start to experience heartfelt love gradually growing day-by-day to become to an ever-deepening love for Mother Earth. Through this, one’s relationship to Nature changes. Everything in Nature starts to come alive. She is “Our Mother” and one cannot help but love her in response to her unconditional love for us. This experience is the beginning of the Shambhala path, which is a path of love, an ever-deepening love toward the Mother and her realm of Shambhala in the heart of the Earth.

WATCHING THE VIDEOS PRESENTING THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF
THE SHAMBHALA PATH DEVELOPED BY ROBERT POWELL, PhD.

It is important to address something concerning the videos. The purpose is to show a path with spiritual exercises that are set into movement—meditation in movement. Trying to describe these exercises by way of videos is not easy. Normally they are communicated “live” in a group situation in three-dimensional space, where there is a direct perception—and therewith the possibility of immediate cognition—of what is being done. And in this situation oral instructions of a subtle nature can be given which are not possible to communicate otherwise. In the video presentations sometimes, in order to be able to indicate the subtlety and depth of a particular exercise, it is necessary to approach it from different perspectives. To the reader, this might seem like a repetition of what has already been described, but this is not the case. It is, in such instances, a matter of “subtle overlays” in order to convey the profundity of a spiritual exercise.

Just as a photographer might take photos of something from different angles in order to convey a true image through an array of various photos arranged in a sequence, so what might seem like a repetition of a description presented elsewhere in this series of videos is not simply a repetition. Rather, it is a depiction bringing forth a different nuance—one that is important for that particular exercise. This should be borne in mind by the viewer when he or she thinks something is being repeated.

The style of these videos is not intended to be repetitive; instead, it is an endeavor to portray something living and profoundly real in a comprehensive and understandable way. Thus, in connection with a particular exercise, a tapestry comes into vision, if one sees—scattered in different parts of this series of videos—what is said about that exercise. Included with the videos there are short texts outlining the Introduction and the four parts of The Shambhala Path, as well as giving an overview and helpful comments—and also providing an over-arching panorama of the spiritual significance of The Shambhala Path. It is the author’s hope that the book describing the spiritual exercises outlined in The Shambhala Path can appear in print in the year 2020 as an additional resource to help deepen into this new spiritual path for our time.

Lastly, it is highly recommended, if one has the possibility to do so, to attend a workshop focusing upon the theme of The Shambhala Path, as a live presentation is much more valuable than a video presentation can ever be. And, apart from anything else, since the set of videos of The Shambhala Path were made, Robert has included some refinements concerning the practice of The Shambhala Path—refinements that it is only possible to get to know by way of attending a workshop.

You can view the original Part 1 introductory video below.

The new videos (included in Parts 1 and 5 of this course) do not necessarily replace the earlier versions, which are still valid. Rather, it is a matter of an evolutionary process, whereby the earlier versions have metamorphosed into the new versions. Robert started off working with the earlier versions of parts 1 and 5. Now he is working with the new versions.

Robert does not envision any further changes to the Shambhala Path other than the inclusion of the Staff of Mercury exercise (the part with the words)—as described in the Introduction to the Shambhala Path—recommended now also as a new opening exercise to the Shambhala Path part 5.

The new video Introduction to the Shambhala Path, also posted on the Resources Page of the Sophia Foundation website, is a free offering. There is an accompanying pdf on the Resources Page that can be downloaded for easy reference and help when viewing the video.
