Star Wisdom
Looking back to the mystery temples of Egypt and Babylon, it is evident that profoundly intuitive star wisdom, embracing different aspects of human life, played an important role in the ancient mysteries. This star wisdom was an exalted science mediating between cosmic-spiritual dimensions and earthly life. For various reasons the star wisdom of antiquity disappeared, the last representatives of the ancient science of the stars being the three Magi from the East who followed the star to Bethlehem. They were led to the birth of the founder of Christianity, who prophesied the appearance of “the sign of the Son of Man in heaven” (Mt. 24:30). These prophetic words imply the arising of Cosmic Christianity and indicate the need for a new star wisdom capable of reading the heavenly signs.
One of the great signs in heaven is referred to in the twelfth chapter of the Book of Revelation: “A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” This refers to Sophia as the Cosmic Soul, who is an important source of inspiration for the emergence of a modern form of star wisdom, the cultivation of which belongs to the development of a new Sophianic impulse in our time.

The yearly Journal for Star Wisdom edited by Robert Powell offers a path of working with star wisdom, containing not only articles but also information about conferences and workshops dedicated to the new star wisdom (Astrosophy). The Journal for Star Wisdom includes listings of the sidereal positions of the sun, moon and planets day by day throughout the year, both geocentrically and heliocentrically, and also a commentary on planetary aspects similar to those during the life of Christ. It is published by SteinerBooks and is available from Fields Bookstore.
